The San Francisco Bay Area is known for its generosity and philanthropic spirit. Even in this unique area of the country, we are challenged to give charitable aid and assistance to all the children who are most vulnerable and under-resourced.

WWFC raises funds and creates awareness for well vetted charitable organizations that provide assistance to at-risk kids. We donate proceeds from our fundraising efforts to various outreach programs which provide children with opportunities to build their confidence, skills and grow their self-esteem.

WWFC provides at-risk children with unique, event-based experiences that offer a break from their daily routine, create a sense of belonging, wonder and joy, and open their eyes to the hope and possibilities in their own lives.

History of WWFC

Founded in 1994, Wender Weis Foundation for Children (WWFC) is committed to improving the self-esteem and self-confidence of children living in underserved communities. WWFC supports 501(c) 3 non-profit organizations that are “bridging the gap” for underserved children. We have supported over 40 organizations, had more than 4500 at-risk children attend our events, had more than 300 professional athletes participate with our organization, and made an investment in our community for more than 20 years.

One of our goals is to enhance the lives of youth today for a brighter tomorrow. Another goal is to play a role in building character in the next generation.

WWFC hosts two keystone, family-friendly events for donors and program beneficiaries alike. We donate proceeds from our fundraisers and private support to various outreach programs that provide children with opportunities to build confidence, grow self-esteem, and harness hope. We distribute grants to sports teams, after school programs, hospitals, shelters and youth agencies. Our investment criteria is focused on quality of programs and lives touched.

We are thrilled to extend our services by creating a “helping hands” fund that can respond to children’s needs in the community through donations to specific charitable organizations.

Our strong brand and longevity aid us in sustaining and advancing the most impactful and innovative youth and family programs.

All kids deserve a chance to just be kids. WWFC encourages all children to laugh hard and dream big through access to sports, health care services and exceptional experiences.

More About WWFC

Our mission is to improve children’s self-esteem and self-confidence. When children believe in themselves and have others believe in them, they are able to develop the emotional, social, and physical skills that allow them to lead healthy, motivated, and inspired lives.

The benefits are countless. From responsibility to trust to cooperation to gratitude, our goal is to play role in building character in the next generation. Here’s how we do it:

Advocacy: With the benefit of a brand and longevity, we are a known agent in sustaining and advancing the most impactful youth and family programs. We rally philanthropists, educators, coaches, legislatures, and superheroes alike to give every kid, regardless of class, race, gender or age, a chance to be a kid.

Investments: We distribute grants to sports teams, after school programs, hospitals, shelters and environmental agencies. Investment criteria is focused on quality of programs and lives touched.

Events: Each year we host two key fundraising and program-delivery events, Holiday Heroes and Children’s Champions.
